Does VHIS cover cancer protection?

VHIS has become one of the most popular medical insurance options on the market. Why is voluntary health insurance considered a cost-effective option, and does it cover cancer screening and treatment? Let Bowtie explain it to you!

VHIS provides comprehensive coverage for medical expenses in the three stages of (1) diagnostic testing, (2) cancer treatment, and (3) follow-up care and recovery.

Coverage for cancer diagnosis

As cancer is a serious illness, early diagnosis is crucial. Doctors typically recommend a series of tests and screenings, such as CT scans, MRI scans, and PET scans, to help determine whether a patient has cancer.

VHIS provides coverage for the above-mentioned diagnostic imaging tests. Taking Bowtie as an example, the benefit limits for different VHIS plans are as follows:

If the claim involves confinement in a Mainland China Hospital unlisted in / a High-end Mainland China Hospital listed in the "List of Designated Hospitals in Mainland China" / confinement in a room higher than the restricted ward class / a pre-existing condition, the relevant benefit payable may be adjusted.

Coverage for cancer surgery

Once a patient is diagnosed with cancer, they may need to undergo surgery to remove cancerous tissue and prevent the condition from worsening.

VHIS categorizes cancer surgeries as “minor,” “Intermediate,” “major,” or “complex,” and the benefit limits are as follows:
