To help you identify text messages sent by Bowtie, Bowtie has registered to participate in the “Registered SMS Sender IDs” implemented by the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA). Starting from August 30, 2024, one-way SMS messages sent by Bowtie will replace the existing number with a registered SMS sender name #Bowtie.
Under all circumstances, you should stay highly vigilant when receiving SMS from unknown senders, and must not disclose to unidentified senders any personal information, bank account numbers or credit card details, transfer money or access any hyperlink in the SMS, to avoid suffering any loss.Please note that the “Registered SMS Sender IDs” are subject to the condition below:
- It is only applicable to local subscribers of mobile services in Hong Kong which are provided by Hong Kong telecommunications service providers and for use within the territory of Hong Kong;
- It does not apply to SMS of which receiving parties are expected to reply to the senders via phone numbers.
